Town enjoy some county success
Ashford Town’s Paul Woolford and Charlie Draper are both through to the Kent County quarter-finals next week. Woolford faces C Smith (Bromley) in the singles,after winning the Division Four final 21-20 at Deal Victoria, while Draper meets J Kendrick (Bellingham) in the Unbadged Singles competition after HIS 21-18 win at Minster. Josh Illman, Bradley Pounds, Shaun and Paul Woolford are also through to the last eight in the triples, winning 17-16 at Canterbury. The Woolfords and Josh Pounds narrowly missed out, losing 14-15 in their final at Snowdown & Aylesham.
Two Ashford Rail teams have confirmed their places in the final of the Club Triples. Lead Janet Williams, Pauline Andrews and skip Gordon Samson won four games out of six. The other trio going through are Lead Bill Weston, David Woolf and skip Alan Aldridge, who also won four games. Rail beat Wear Bay 91-57 at home in a fiverink mixed triples. Lead Pauline Andrews, Graham Williams and skip Gordon Samson were the highest winning rink – 23-8.
