Mantarays impress with festival success
Ashford Mantarays won the Kent B2N Netball Festival on Sunday. The recently established team were one of two locally-based clubs who braved the hottest day of the year to take part alongside seven other county sides in a tournament to test their new skills. Mantarays won with 40 points, while the other team, Stingrays, who join the local league in September, were fifth with 23 points. The Ashford squads have trained through the Ashford Netball League’s Pay & Train & Play programme, putting it to good use, with good control, a high turnover and impressive shooting statistics. Results: 1 Ashford Mantarays 40 points; 2 Colfeians B2N 30; 3 Club Langley 28; 4 Medway BTN A 25; 5 Ashford Stingrays 23; 6 Tenterden Tornadoes 19; 7 Balgowan 16; 8 Canterbury 15; 9 Medway BTN B 12; 10 Brockley Baller 0.
