Man­tarays im­press with fes­ti­val suc­cess

Ash­ford Man­tarays won the Kent B2N Net­ball Fes­ti­val on Sun­day. The re­cently es­tab­lished team were one of two lo­cally-based clubs who braved the hottest day of the year to take part along­side seven other county sides in a tour­na­ment to test their new skills. Man­tarays won with 40 points, while the other team, Stingrays, who join the lo­cal league in Septem­ber, were fifth with 23 points. The Ash­ford squads have trained through the Ash­ford Net­ball League’s Pay & Train & Play pro­gramme, putting it to good use, with good con­trol, a high turnover and im­pres­sive shoot­ing statis­tics.
