Mer­sham Sports sur­vived a late col­lapse to edge home by four wick­ets in the Cham­pi­onship East lo­cal derby at bot­tom side Ken­ning­ton on Satur­day. Need­ing only 9a to win, they must have felt it was job done at 82-2, only to lose four wick­ets for seven runs be­fore skip­per Dar­ren Pugh got his side across the win­ning line. Matthew Fagg (4-34) and Pugh (3-28) were the pick of Mer­sham’s at­tack as Ken­ning­ton strug­gled to 90 all out. Joe Jol­ley made 22, with 19 ex­tras in­clud­ing 10 wides sec­ond top score. Stu­art Wood­bridge hit 52 as Wye eased to an eight-wicket win in Di­vi­sion 1 Cen­tral at Shep­pey. He hit nine fours in his 70-ball knock, be­fore Raj Ma­hade­va­iah (38 not out) and Lewis El­gar (26 not out) saw them home on 154-2 Stu­art Wise (4-27) ear­lier helped dis­miss the home side for 153. Vi­jal Sa­jiku­mar hit 31 in Willes­bor­ough’s 40-run home de­feat against Frinds­bury. The Med­way vis­i­tors con­ceded 21 wides in an ex­tras to­tal of 34, dis­mis­ing the hosts for 146. Ash­ley Robin­son (4-43) and Tim Luck­hurst (3-53) were the best of the Boro bowlers in Frinds­bury’s 186.

Great Chart topped 300 in their drawn friendly with Boughton and East­well at God­in­ton Park on Sun­day. Open­ers Dun­can Gar­rett ( 116 not out) and Si­mon Har­ris (107) added 208 and then Gavin Hope (65) hit seven fours and five sixes from just 27 balls as Chart to­talled 305-1 from 43 overs. Craig Man­ner­ing hit 88 in Boughton and East­well’s re­ply as they closed on on 176-7.
