Meanwhile, out of town…
The landmark £7million John Lewis at Home store in Ashford is rapidly taking shape.
The metal framework of the store looks to have been completed at the site off Drovers Roundabout off Maidstone Road.
Construction of the John Lewis began in June and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Once completed the furniture and homeware store will create about 125 jobs in the town including sales assistants, specialist advisers and catering professionals.
Glynis Gunning-Stevenson, who was announced as manager this month, said: “As a business we are committed to recruiting locally and I’m confident that our recruitment team will select a strong group of individuals to help launch our at home shop to the people of Ashford.”
It will only be the 10th John Lewis at home store, which focus on furniture, furnishing accessories, electrical and home technology.
Customers will be able to order products online and use the store’s click and collect service at www.johnlewis.com
