Enjoy food from around the world
Worldwide cuisine served with a Gurkha work ethic is now on offer, according to the new owners of a town centre restaurant.
The Paper Duck has opened on the site of Yeungs, the Chinese buffet previously in North Street.
The family-run restaurant is offering a selection of meals from across the globe.
Owner CJ Shrestha, 26, ran similar businesses in a number of towns before moving to the borough recently.
He said: “There is a saying in my culture, ‘Guests are God’. We pride ourselves in our service, whether that’s serving as soldiers, or our customers.
“We also enjoy the community feeling, not just us Nepalese but the wider community too and I hope we will become a welcome part of the town centre.”
Among more than 60 items the 130-seat restaurant will offer will be Chinese, Italian, Indian, Nepalese, Japanese and Mexican dishes. Each week at least 10 dishes will be changed, to ensure a variety of choices.
