World­wide cui­sine served with a Gurkha work ethic is now on of­fer, ac­cord­ing to the new own­ers of a town cen­tre restau­rant.

The Pa­per Duck has opened on the site of Ye­ungs, the Chi­nese buffet pre­vi­ously in North Street.

The fam­ily-run restau­rant is of­fer­ing a se­lec­tion of meals from across the globe.

Owner CJ Shrestha, 26, ran sim­i­lar busi­nesses in a num­ber of towns be­fore mov­ing to the bor­ough re­cently.

He said: “There is a say­ing in my cul­ture, ‘Guests are God’. We pride our­selves in our ser­vice, whether that’s serv­ing as soldiers, or our cus­tomers.

“We also en­joy the com­mu­nity feel­ing, not just us Nepalese but the wider com­mu­nity too and I hope we will be­come a wel­come part of the town cen­tre.”

Among more than 60 items the 130-seat restau­rant will of­fer will be Chi­nese, Ital­ian, In­dian, Nepalese, Ja­panese and Mex­i­can dishes. Each week at least 10 dishes will be changed, to en­sure a va­ri­ety of choices.
