Nursing ban for racist manager of care home
email@example.com A care home manager who voiced her disgust at elderly residents being helped to use the toilet by black carers has been banned from nursing for a year.
South African Helene Coetzee made the comments when she was manager of Bupa’s £7 million flagship dementia care home Warren Lodge, which opened near Ashford’s Drovers roundabout in May 2011.
She stunned colleagues saying: “I pride myself on not having many foreigners here.”
She was also heard to say: “I don’t want any more black nurses, there are already enough in the home.”
