Pupils cut ribbon and make history

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Hospital Update -

Two new classrooms have been officially opened at Aldington Primary, amid celebrations for the school’s Music and Arts week.

Aldington Primary is expanding as the village it serves gets bigger, and is now taking 30 children into reception each year.

Pupils themselves cut the ribbon to officially launch the new classrooms, which were finished around the start of the year and will be used for children from Years 4 and 5.

Head teacher Sandra MacCourt said: “I was particularly pleased that the children could be so involved in the event to mark the occasion.

“There is a lovely link between the creation of a new environment for the pupils and the creative work that they have done during Music and Arts Week.”

The building work was funded by developer contributions, KCC and the school’s PTFA.
