Hospice menu of­fers fresh, tasty op­tions

Vis­i­tors to the cof­fee shop at Ash­ford’s Pil­grims Hospice can now choose from a range of freshly pre­pared meals, thanks to the in­tro­duc­tion of a new menu.

The shop is open to all hospice vis­i­tors, in­clud­ing car­ers, pa­tients and fam­i­lies. It pre­vi­ously sold a small range of drinks and snacks but has now ex­tended the menu to of­fer a much wider choice. Ce d r i c Town­ing , cater­ing man­ager of the hospice in Hythe Road, Willes­bor­ough, said: “Many peo­ple vis­it­ing the hospice may spend much of their day with a rel­a­tive and can’t al­ways go home to eat a proper meal. We wanted to make sure that some­thing was al­ways avail­able for them and to pro­vide tasty food that’s cooked on the premises.”

He uses a range of lo­cal sup­pli­ers to en­sure meat, veg­eta­bles and other pro­duce is al­ways at its fresh­est.

A qual­i­fied nu­tri­tion­ist, he also care­fully plans the menu so there are plenty of healthy op­tions.
