Hospice menu offers fresh, tasty options
Visitors to the coffee shop at Ashford’s Pilgrims Hospice can now choose from a range of freshly prepared meals, thanks to the introduction of a new menu.
The shop is open to all hospice visitors, including carers, patients and families. It previously sold a small range of drinks and snacks but has now extended the menu to offer a much wider choice. Ce d r i c Towning , catering manager of the hospice in Hythe Road, Willesborough, said: “Many people visiting the hospice may spend much of their day with a relative and can’t always go home to eat a proper meal. We wanted to make sure that something was always available for them and to provide tasty food that’s cooked on the premises.”
He uses a range of local suppliers to ensure meat, vegetables and other produce is always at its freshest.
A qualified nutritionist, he also carefully plans the menu so there are plenty of healthy options.
Profits from the coffee shop go back to Pilgrims Hospices’ coffers.
