Golf day makes thousands of pounds for cancer charity
A charity got into full swing at a special golfing day, raising more than £5,300 to help combat cancer in children.
Abbie’s Army was set up in memory of six-year-old Abbie Mifsud, from Ashford, who died of a brain tumour in September 2011.
Since their first fundraising event in March 2012, Abbie’s parents Amanda Walker and Ray Mifsud, of Bromley Green Road, and their friends and supporters have brought in around £185,000 for cancer charities, and now their own charity.
Members of Ashford Golf Club in Sandyhurst Lane dug deep to take part in a competition and the chance to win a whole host of prizes.
