Nau­ti­cal songs will help keep RNLI afloat

A com­mu­nity choir con­cert has raised more than £1,000 for the RNLI.

The Ash­ford Com­mu­nity Choir’s Love To Sing con­cert was held in aid of the lifeboat char­ity at Eger­ton Mil­len­nium Hall.

Con­ducted by Tessa Fine­man and ac­com­pa­nied by Jean Smith, the choir per­formed pop­u­lar and nau­ti­cal songs.

Guest artists in­cluded the Ash­ford Gui­tar En­sem­ble, the East Kent Cho­rus and a solo from Grade 8 vi­o­lin­ist, Lara Smith, who is soon to per­form in the Young Mu­si­cian of the Year com­pe­ti­tion at the Mar­lowe Theatre.
