sawilliams@thekm A luxury jewellery shop has opened at the Ashford Designer Outlet, creating seven jobs.

The Swarovski boutique opened at the end of June at the Kimberley Way shopping outlet – replacing a Carphone Warehouse shop.

The brand, which is the world’s leading producer of precision-cut crystal, sells jewellery, watches, and home and fashion accessories.

Swarovski managing director Hayley Quinn said: “We are always thrilled when we get the opportunity to expand and expose our brand to a new set of customers. With the collection in-store, we feel that there is something for everyone.”

Swarovski has more than 2,000 concessions and boutiques worldwide.

Designer Outlet manager David Maddison said: “We feel the opening will be extremely popular with shoppers in Ashford, and the store adds to our growing portfolio of designer and high street brands.

“The store is the 17th opening since May 2012, and [designer outlet owner] McArthurGlen are delighted to have Swarovski join.”

Shops that have opened at the outlet in the past 12 months include Reiss, French Connection, Crabtree & Evelyn, Links of London, Molton Brown, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Japanese-style restaurant Wagamama.
