New venue for church group
The Ashford Chr ist ian Fellowship will hold its first service in the Centrepiece this weekend.
The religious group, previously based in Tufton Street, has bought the former Methodist church and will hold its first service from 10.30am on Sunday.
The landmark building in Bank Street was being marketed for £750,000 but it is understood the fellowship paid around £450,000 for the church.
The new owners have already carried out works to repair the lift and the worship hall floor, but there are plans to refurbish other parts of the building.
The first service will be at 10.30am with a Heaven on Earth service at 6pm.
Full story on the purchase in next week’s Kentish Express.
