Road ban for drink-driver

A man has been banned from driv­ing for two years af­ter be­ing caught three times over the drink-drive limit.

Ryan Strand, 23, of Spring­wood Drive, Ash­ford, was stopped driv­ing a Re­nault Clio on Can­ter­bury Road, Lyminge, on June 10.

When breathal­ysed, he gave a read­ing of 102 mi­cro­grammes of al­co­hol in 100 millil­itres of breath. The le­gal limit is 35. He ad­mit­ted drink-driv­ing when he ap­peared at Folke­stone Mag­is­trates’ Court on July 18.

Strand was banned from driv­ing for 24 months. He must carry out 80 hours of un­paid work within the next 12 months, and must pay £85 costs and a £60 vic­tim sur­charge.
