No further action over grill incident

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - New Arrivals -

A man who is alleged to have stabbed himself in the face with a steak knife during an argument with his partner will not face charges.

We previously reported how shocked diners witnessed the fight between the couple during a busy Saturday evening service at Ashford’s Beefeater Grill in Eureka Park on June 22.

Emergency services later attended a disturbance at a room in the nearby Premier Inn hotel, where the same pair were believed to be staying.

A woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, it was decided that there was insufficient evidence to prosecute, so there will be no further action.”
