Don’t get burnt by beach thefts

Po­lice are re­mind­ing peo­ple not to leave valu­ables unat­tended on the beach, af­ter a theft in Folke­stone on Sun­day.

A black Guess bag with gold let­ter­ing, con­tain­ing money and a phone, was stolen from the beach near East Cliff when the owner went for a swim.

Peo­ple mak­ing the most of the con­tin­u­ing sun­shine are ad­vised not make them­selves easy tar­gets.

Po­lice rec­om­mend beach-go­ers to carry mo­bile phones and other valu­ables with them at all times and al­ways keep be­long­ings in view and within reach­ing dis- tance. Par­ents who may get distracted as they play with their chil­dren are also urged to be vig­i­lant.
