Young cooks shine at show
A team from Ashford’s John Wallis Church of England Academy were runners-up in the finals of the Kent is Delicious food competition during the Kent County Show.
Their dessert – A Medley of Crumble Pies – impressed the judges with its flavour and local ingredients.
The competition was organised by the Diocese of Canterbury’s Communities and Partnerships Framework in partnership with the Kent Agricultural Society (KCAS), Produced in Kent, NFU Swale, and Whitehead and Monckton Solicitors.
Teacher Sharron Spinks said: “The children have had a wonderful experience throughout the project and their day at the County Show will stay with them forever.”
