Pugh and Fagg impress with the ball
Kent Regional League
Dan Coulson hit 53 and skipper Darren Pugh 44 as Mersham Sports continued their winning run with a 42-run Championship East victory at Bobbing Court. Good late hitting by Matthew Fagg 30 and an unbeaten stand of 40 between James Fearne (38 not out) and Geoffrey Fagg (20 not out) sustained the innings, as the visitors closed on 214-8. Bobbing Court looked comfortably placed at 91-2 but Pugh (3-32) and Geoffrey Fagg (4-38) then got to work as wickets tumbled regularly – the last four falling in the space of 11 runs. Grant Langfield top scored with 41 for Kennington as they went down by six wickets at leaders Old Williamsonians. Four Wye batsmen failed to trouble the scorers as they slipped to 81 all out, losing by 89 runs to Sherwoood at Rochester. John Webster made 31, one of only three others who reached double figures. Callum Stuckey hit 57 off 58 balls but failed to stop Willesborough’s 39-run defeat at home to Upchurch. Stuckey walked out with his side 45-5, chasing a target of 167 but batted well, hitting six fours and a six before the innings tailed off quickly at the end.
