Happy hunting day
There was a good turnout for the Ashford Valley Tickham Hunt on Boxing Day despite waterlogged ground meaning the location was changed.
About 50 riders met at The Vine in High Street, Tenterden, and hunted in nearby Hemsted Forest as fields were too wet.
Villagers lined the streets and packed into the village pubs as the hunt set off at 11am.
Joint hunt master Tim Laite said the riders took part in a trail hunt, where the hounds follow an artificial scent rather than chasing a fox.
He said: “The village was packed, there was a very good turnout, and we had people come from as far as Sittingbourne to take part. We had riders ranging in age from 10 to 72. It was good fun for everyone.”
A hunt has taken place in Tenterden for the last 60 years and was in Great Chart before that.
The Ashford Valley Tickham Hunt meets every Wednesday and Saturday at various locations.
