Don’t lose buildings

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Ashford Valley Hunt -

I agree with Mr Peters (December 19) about the Kent Wool Growers development and others. Ashford seems to be committed to removing the architecture of its past history as its record so far appears to suggest. If you look at other expanding towns such as Newbury, they have managed to retain a number of their historic buildings by giving them a new use.

The article seems to suggest that the Kent Wool Growers’ move from Tannery Lane site to Sevington Park is assured.

Until such time as the current proposals from AXA/DMI are approved by Ashford Borough Council, this cannot be the case unless the current consultation on the Sevington Park development and the proposed partial Junction 10A is purely window dressing. Lesley Wickens, Ashford
