Ralph Morley, 21, led the winning Trinity College, Cambridge team on University Challenge, which aired on Monday night.

Mr Morley is the son of Kennington Community Forum chair Chris Morley, and attended St Theresa’s Primary School in Ashford before moving to a boarding school outside the county.

The Cambridge team picked up a quarter final victory, beating rivals Manchester University by 285 points to 205.

During the spirited match, Mr Morley prompted teasing by host Jeremy Paxman when he preempted the ending of a question on British Prime Ministers.

Although answering correctly, Paxman playfully branded Mr Morley and his team “smartarses.”
