Plans for a new accommodation for young people at risk of homelessness went on display last week.

Golding Homes housing association and Ashford Borough Council (ABC) exhibited proposals for the development at The Limes, in Stanhope, Ashford last Friday at The John Wallis Academy.

The scheme would see the play area relocated and improved, and specialist accommodation built to house up to eight young people at risk of homelessness.

One of the homes will be accessible for people with disabilities.

Members of the public were invited to view and comment on the plans.

ABC housing chief Cllr Aline Hicks said: “We believe these homes are vital to help us pro- vide much-needed supported accommodation at a time when preventing homelessness has never been more important. “Not only that but the com- munity stands to benefit from improved play facilities.”

A planning application is expected to go before ABC in February.
