Gifts are on way to needy children
Charitable pupils at Kennington Junior School donated nearly 60 gift-filled shoeboxes to underprivileged children around the world.
Parents, teachers and pupils joined forces to fill 58 boxes with treats for this year’s Operation Christmas Child appeal.
This is the fifth year that the Upper Vicarage Road school has taken part in the scheme, which sees the boxes sent to children in Belarus, Ukraine and Romania as well as Swaziland.
Parent Sarah Ward said: “It was such fun and hugely rewarding. Through the shoebox appeal, children in our school were able to spread laughter and hope to children living in poverty through this excellent charity.”
