Village stage stars’ final preparations for show

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - It’s Panto Time -

Stars from Pluckley are busy putting the finishing touches to their annual village pantomime, this year titled The Princess and the Pearl.

The show is the village’s 29th panto production and stars Jacky Boodle as Pinky Trotter, Anne Nelson-Smith as Lavina Armitage-Shanks and Gerard Sigfrid as the Deadly Lurgy.

The story, set in the 1950s, follows the princess on the hunt for her stolen necklace.

It has been a sad year for the group, who lost long-standing member Mike Cowdry, who passed away in the spring of 2013. He was a member for 27 years and was well known for his performances as both dame and villain.

Three performances of the show will be held in total, on Friday, January 24, at 7.30pm and Saturday, January 25, at 3pm and 7.30pm at Pluckley Village Hall.

Tickets cost £6 for the evening performances or £4 for the matinee and are available from Gary Boodle at Pluckley Butchers or by calling Judy Pool on 01233 840280.
