CLUB EMERGE AS THE DOMINANT FORCE BY WINNING A HOST OF TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
Mavericks Pool Club came within an ace of recording a clean-sweep in the Ashford League’s team and individual awards.
They fielded five teams in three different divisions, with Elite winning Division 1 and X finishing third.
The T15 team topped Division 2 by a point, while Odd Squad clinched Division 3, finishing 11 points ahead of nearest rivals Beaver Inn A. T8 finished second bottom.
Jamie Yerrall (Elite) won Division 1’s player-of-the-year award, presented to the winner of most frames, Darren Madden (T15) was the Division 2 recipient, but Barry Fannon (Odd Squad) missed out by one frame in Division 3.
The league is played in pubs and clubs across Ashford with 10 teams in each division.
Each team is made up of a minimum of six players who each play two frames per match.
A point is awarded for each frame won, with two bonus points for a win and one for draw.
