Stuck truck forces police to close road
Police were forced to close a busy road in Ashford after a lorry became lodged under a railway bridge.
Officers were called to Chart Road at about 2.35pm on Friday after the truck became wedged under the structure.
The road was closed between Templer Way and Maidstone Road for several hours while the lorry was recovered.
The road was reopened after engineers from Network Rail examined the bridge to make sure it was safe for traffic to pass.
The incident caused lengthy delays because drivers use Chart Road as a route from the Tank Roundabout to the town centre.
