Girl as­saulted af­ter ask­ing for cig­a­rette

A teenage girl has al­legedly been sex­u­ally as­saulted by a man who tried to push her into bushes in Ash­ford.

The 17-year-old claims she was attacked by the stranger af­ter he at­tempted to kiss her in Ceme­tery Lane, Ken­ning­ton.

She told po­lice she was on her way to a friend’s house when the man be­gan walk­ing with her af­ter she asked him for a cig­a­rette.

De­tec­tives are now ap­peal­ing for help in trac­ing the man af­ter the al­leged at­tack, at about 5pm on Satur­day.

He is de­scribed as 5ft 4in, with short black hair, clean-shaven and with a di­a­mond stud ear­ring in his right ear.

He was wear­ing a grey hooded top with a yel­low and blue line on the sleeve and black track­suit trousers and train­ers.

Po­lice say they are not con­nect­ing this in­ci­dent with other in­de­cent ex­po­sures in Ash­ford.
