Sus­pended jail sen­tence

A 32-year-old man has been given a six-month prison sen­tence, sus­pended for 12 months, af­ter plead­ing guilty to go­ing equipped for theft.

Justin Stephen Stacey, of Smar­den Road, Pluck­ley, was dis­cov­ered on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 10, with ar­ti­cles on him for use in the course of or in con­nec­tion with theft – porce­lain from a spark plug, a torch, gloves and a scarf.

Stacey ad­mit­ted the of­fence and was sen­tenced by Folke­stone mag­is­trates on Mon­day, Jan­uary 6, to six months in prison, sus­pended for 12 months, and 100 hours of un­paid work in the next 12 months.

He was also given a cur­few to re­main at home be­tween 10pm and 6am daily un­til March 30. Stacey must also pay £85 court costs and an £80 vic­tim sur­charge and the porce­lain, torch, gloves and scarf were for­feited and de­stroyed.
