£13m cuts in elderly care
Some of the headline cuts in KCC’s budget are already known.
These include £13m in care services for the elderly, £2m from childrens centres and £7m through changes to the popular Freedom Pass.
There will also be a cut in the highways budget of £3.6m and £4.7m will be lopped from the budget for looking after vulnerable children.
A further £2.5m will be cut from the hometo-school transport service while spending £1.8m less on community engagement.
Smaller scale cuts will hit support services KCC provides to schools, including a £250,000 cut from improvement services and £280,000 less for the education psychology service.
