£13m cuts in el­derly care

Some of the head­line cuts in KCC’s bud­get are al­ready known.

Th­ese in­clude £13m in care ser­vices for the el­derly, £2m from chil­drens cen­tres and £7m through changes to the pop­u­lar Free­dom Pass.

There will also be a cut in the high­ways bud­get of £3.6m and £4.7m will be lopped from the bud­get for look­ing af­ter vul­ner­a­ble chil­dren.

A fur­ther £2.5m will be cut from the hometo-school trans­port ser­vice while spend­ing £1.8m less on com­mu­nity en­gage­ment.

Smaller scale cuts will hit sup­port ser­vices KCC pro­vides to schools, in­clud­ing a £250,000 cut from im­prove­ment ser­vices and £280,000 less for the ed­u­ca­tion psy­chol­ogy ser­vice.
