Singer-songwriter in homecoming gig
A singer-songwriter from Wye will be performing a homecoming gig, as part of a European tour.
Former Norton Knatchbull pupil James Kirby left his day job at Brakes in Ashford back in 2011 to become a full-time musician.
He has been touring ever since – supporting the likes of Labrinth and the Hoosiers.
James is coming back to the county to perform at the University of Kent’s Gulbenkian cafe in Canterbury on Friday, January 31.
He said: “I’m looking forward to playing in Canterbury in an intimate setting.
“The audience can expect some brand new songs that I’ve been writing during my travels, and a guest appearance to sing a few songs too.”
During his current tour of Europe, James has played at venues around the UK, and in Holland, Luxembourg and Norway.
Doors open for his night at the Gulbenkian cafe from 8.30pm for a 9pm start.
Tickets cost £7 for adults or £5 for students.
