CAB can find you the best energy deals
Help is at hand for households concerned about winter fuel bills.
Energy Best Deal, which is run by the Citizens Advice Bureau and Ofgem, is funded by energy suppliers and provides help to reduce the energy bills of the poorest households across the country.
Sue Chan and Sandra Joe run the Energy Best Deal sessions in Ashford and Tenterden.
Sue said: “People are increasingly worried about how they will pay their energy bills. Some people face an unnecessary struggle because they are paying over the odds.
“Through Energy Best Deal we are helping people seek out the cheapest deal; get to grips with the different tariffs and payment methods and explain what they can do if they’re in debt with their fuel company.
“We’re also helping people use less energy and explaining how they can make their home more energy efficient.”

Following a Great Quantum Bake Off contest last year, the team will also use their combined culinary skills for cake and bun sales.
The Retreat, in High Halden, cares for sick, injured and unwanted animals. It provides veterinary care and shelter for more than 1,000 animals at any one time and Heather Mills, the former wife of Paul McCartney, is its patron.
Charlie Vavasour, managing director of Quantum PR, said: “We’re looking forward to doing as much as we can in 2014 to raise money for The Retreat and help them fund the much-needed care for the animals.
“We’ll post updates on our fundraising efforts on our web- site and Twitter. If anyone feels our efforts are worthy of a small donation, that would be gratefully received.”
Billy Thompson, founder of The Retreat, said: “We would like to thank everyone at Quantum PR for choosing us as their charity of the year. The team and animals are very grateful.”
