Appeal for fair prizes
Unwanted items ranging from champagne to puzzles are needed to raise money for the Pilgrims Hospices annual Gift It Again appeal. Last year, generous residents donated hundreds of gifts, which raised an impressive £9,100. Suitable items include chocolates, toiletries, toys, candles and drink. The Pilgrims’ Ros Sawyers said: “We are invited to many fairs, sales and other events to fundraise. Our experience is that every one likes a chance to win something so these gifts are used as the prizes for very large tombolas, raffles and auctions.” To support the campaign, drop any unused items at the hospice in Hythe Road, the County Square shopping centre in Ashford town centre or B&Q in Norman Road, South Ashford.
