Driver given three-year ban

Gary Hedges, 25, of Swaf­fer Way, Ash­ford has been given a sus­pended prison sen­tence af­ter be­ing found guilty of driv­ing a Vaux­hall Corsa while dis­qual­i­fied and with no insurance in Bad Mun­stereifel Road on De­cem­ber 1 last year. The same day he failed to pro­vide a spec­i­men of breath for anal­y­sis. Can­ter­bury Mag­is­trates sen­tenced him to 120 days in prison, sus­pended for 18 months, and dis­qual­i­fied him from driv­ing for three years when he ap­peared on Jan­uary 10. He must also carry out 150 hours of un­paid work within the next year, get treat­ment for his al­co­hol de­pen­dency, pay £85 costs and an £80 vic­tim sur­charge.
