‘Chil­dren would have to move schools’

said: “I’m an­noyed at how it came about. No con­sul­ta­tion; nei­ther par­ents nor schools had a say. We could prob­a­bly af­ford it, by scrap­ing by, but we know other fam­i­lies that wouldn’t. Plus, we don’t think we should have to.

“We’re also wor­ried about the en­vi­ron­men­tal is­sues. If this comes about, it might push more par­ents to drive their chil­dren to school.

“We want to make more par­ents aware, spread the word and en­cour­age peo­ple to write to their lo­cal coun­cil­lors.

“We’re still hop­ing they re­verse the de­ci­sion.”
