Lancaster strike secures points
Sam Lancaster’s winner earned Marsh Athletic their third successive Premier Division victory as they beat bottom side Mersham Sports 1-0 Lancaster’s eighth goal of the season lifted Marsh into fourth, four points behind leaders Aldington, while Mersham’s sixth loss sees them remain rooted at the foot of the table. The game ended in controversial fashion as Mersham were reduced to 10-men following the sending-off of goalkeeper Will Colthup, while the visitors were also denied a late penalty. The match was one of only three that survived another weekend of mass postponements. Top scorer Danny Jennings scored a hat-trick as Troggs beat Bromley Green Reserves 3-2 in the only Division 1 game which went ahead. The win sees the Smarden victors move into six place, leapfrogging both Beaver and Red Heathens. Michael Mannell and Martyn Dalby netted for Green, beaten for the 11th time this season and still on negative points due to a points deduction earlier this season. Steve Tutt was another hat-trick man as in-form Third Division side Wye Monarchs Reserves continued their impressive run with a 6-2 win at Ashford Cavaliers. Ben Morley, Jack Metland and Alex Farrell added the others, with Matt Moon and Harry Churchey netting for the home side.
