It’s time for Ann to step down

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Lorries Slowly Destroying Grade Ii Listed Home -

Voted in by a very small number of voters in Kent and now publicly humiliated by that dreadful TV documentary, surely the time has now arrived for the ubiquitous Ann Barnes to stand down, with immediate effect, and then to disappear, without trace, into the bureaucratic desert!

The setbacks that she has suffered during her short reign are all too much for the electors ever to take her seriously. What her role has ever been or what it is likely to become, in the light of her reported ‘new approach’, is only conjecture. At a time when local and county councils are being pressured into budgetary savings, surely KCC could and should start with the police commissioner role. I wonder how the Kent constabularies will react to that news! Colin Davis, Front Road, Woodchurch
