Speed humps are the biggest I’ve ever seen
I rarely find myself saying ‘hear, hear’ when Jeremy Clarkson expresses an opinion on anything.
But ‘hear, hear’ it is from me on the subject of the enormous speed humps on Ulley Road, Kennington.
By all means have traffic calming measures, particularly where schools are close by, but these humps are absolutely mountainous in comparison with any others I have seen anywhere.
They rattle and risk a car’s suspension and axles, even at very slow speeds, are way too high and are potentially lethal for cyclists.
They should be removed as a matter of urgency and replaced with less dangerous traffic calming measures.
However, whoever is charged with the task of getting on to the humps to remove them will need to bring ropes and a set of crampons, as I can tell them from personal experience, it is a long way up. Mike Bell Kennington
I condemn Mr Clarkson and his team for their practice of encouraging reckless driving and the BBC for allowing it. Ted Prangnell Kennington
