A char­ity man­ager found her­self the vic­tim of ma­jor soak­ing at a summer fete in aid of the Kent Autis­tic Trust.

More than £800 was raised for the char­ity at the event, which was held at the Ash­ford Re­source Cen­tre, in Bent­ley Road, Willes­bor­ough.

The fete in­cluded a live band, a cake stall, bric-abrac, raf­fle, face paint­ing and saw op­er­a­tional man­ager Joan Ha­gan take her turn in the stocks.

She said: “The fete was a huge suc­cess and we are al­ready begin­ning to plan next year’s event.”

The to­tal raised was £835.52.
