YOUNGSTERS RECEIVE AN ENGLAND CALL
Two of Kent’s rising young stars have caught the attention of national selectors. Wicketkeeper Ryan Davies and paceman Hugh Bernard have both been selected in England squads. Davies, who plays his club cricket for Sandwich, will go into camp with the England under-17 squad for two weeks on Sunday (August 10). In that time, England will play a one-dayer against the South African under-19s before playing the Pakistan under-17s in three one-dayers and a three-day Test. Meanwhile, Bernard, (pictured) who plays for Folkestone and is a teammate of Davies in the London and East Region squad for the under-17 Super 4 Competition, has been named in the English Development Programme squad. They will play against the England under-19 and Pakistan under-17 sides in limited overs fixtures later this month.
