Young readers break record
Three thousand children across Kent have been named record breakers after notching up more than half a million minutes of reading at home.
The youngsters are taking part in KM’s Buster’s Book Club, a pilot literacy scheme for schools that aims to foster a lifelong love of books.
The initiative has achieved a combined total of 568,723 minutes of home reading and organisers are challenging schools in the Ashford area to sign up for Buster’s Book Club when the new academic year starts in September.
