Grand Prix victory for young filmmaker
A talented filmmaker is in pole position for life in the fast lane after winning a competition to meet Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton at the Italian Grand Prix.
George Ellsworth, of Pluckley Road, Smarden, who has just completed a level three diploma in creative media production at MidKent College’s Maidstone Campus, impressed judges with a road safety video created for the Motor Sports Association.
The judging panel included Sky Sports F1 presenters Johnny Herbert and Natalie Pinkham and George’s prize also includes £2,000.
The 20-year-old said: “It’s a real thrill to be going to Italy to watch the Grand Prix and to meet such a prestigious figure in British motorsport. I’ve only ever watched Formula 1 on TV so I’m very excited.”
Mr Ellsworth now plans to study a degree in digital film production at Ravensbourne in London.
The Italian Grand Prix takes place over the weekend of September 5 to 7.
