Stour Val­ley Arts is run­ning two fam­ily for­est work­shops this month in King’s Wood, Chal­lock.

A Sound Curve ses­sion takes place on Satur­day, led by mu­si­cian Peter Cook, with vis­i­tors given the op­por­tu­nity to make in­stru­ments from wood­land ma­te­ri­als.

The day runs from 11am to 4pm and will end with a filmed per­for­mance of a col­lec­tively com­posed mu­si­cal piece.

Any­one is wel­come but places must be booked by to­day (Thurs­day).

The sec­ond is a For­est Books work­shop on Satur­day, Au­gust 30, where guests will cre­ate sto­ries about wood­land creatures.

Artist Sara Wicks will show the group how to make sim­ple folded or sewn books us­ing for­est ma­te­ri­als.

The ses­sion runs from 11am to 4pm and places must be booked by Thurs­day, Au­gust 21.
