A 12-year-old girl has proved there is such a thing as a free lunch.

Generous Megan Champion undertook a one-mile sponsored swim in the pool of the Stour Centre in Ashford to raise enough money to treat the residents of Loudon Court, in Godinton Park, Ashford to a buffet.

The Wye School pupil’s swim raised £68 in total.

Dad Nigel Champion said: “Having been a pupil at Godinton Primary School, Megan had previously visited Loudon Court with her fellow pupils.

She remembered how much the residents enjoyed the visits by the children and thought it would be good to go back to see them.”

As well as providing food, Megan also sang to the residents.

Mr Champion added: “There is enough money left to hold another lunch, which it expected to be held at the end of August.

“They have also invited Megan back at Christmas.”
