Ashford Museum volunteers were invited to a congratulatory tea in the Mayor’s Parlour as he personally thanked them for their hard work in achieving accreditation from the Arts Council.

Ashford Mayor Cllr John Link was joined by the members of Ashford Borough Museum committee who had worked hard for the recognition at the event on August 1.

The volunteer-run museum was awarded the accreditation in January for the work that has been made to improve its content and layout.

The Mayor said “It was lovely to get the committee in to personally say thank you for their perseverance for this accreditation.

“The museum is an exciting part of the growing culture of our town. It was very important for the museum to receive this sought-after award, but it is also very well-deserved.”
