Surgery aims to expand for patients
One of Ashford’s biggest doctors’ surgeries has revealed plans to expand in order to provide the community with better access to health care.
Public consultation is now open on the plans for the New Hayesbank Surgery in Kennington, which cannot take any more patients.
The plans include creating eight more consulting rooms, restructuring the front entrance and building a minor operations suite to reduce the number of patients needing to go to hospital.
If the proposal is successful, the extension plans will mean the surgery can register more people in its catchment area and create six additional jobs for clinical and reception staff.
The s urgery previously expanded in February 2000 when a pharmacy, ancillary offices and a common room were built over two floors.
Public comments on the plans are due by Monday, September 1, and more information on the proposals can be found at www. planning.ashford.gov.uk
