Suspended prison term for assault
An Ashford man who pleaded guilty to assault has been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for two years.
On Saturday, June 7, Darren King, 44, of Linden Road, assaulted another man in Ashford.
On the same day in Ashford he used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause another man to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against him.
King pleaded guilty at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on August 4 and was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay £400 in compensation and a total of £170 costs.
