Woman rescued from blazing car
Fellow motorists saved the life of a woman trapped in a blazing car after it overturned and burst into flames.
They joined forces to right the burning Perodua, which had collided with a Renault Clio travelling in the opposite direction in a horror smash on the A2070 near Kingsnorth on Saturday morning.
The motorists also used bottled water from their own cars to put out the flames while they waited for the emergency services.
The mother of one of the rescuers has described their efforts as heroic.
In an online posting Paula Tozer said: “The car that was hit flipped over onto its roof and caught fire. It was my daughter [Pheola] and a host of other motorists who all jumped out of their cars and managed to turn the car the right way up again.
“They all put the fire out with bottles of water from their cars and a small fire extinguisher before the emergency workers were even able to get there!
“I think it would have been much sadder story if they hadn’t all worked together so quickly and selflessly.”
