Cows on line cause train service delays
Anyone who travels by rail on a Sunday knows it’s not always the most straightforward task.
Passengers on the 7.50am Ramsgate to London Charing Cross service on Sunday morning will know that more than most. Cows on the line near Headcorn delayed the service shortly after the train left Ashford International at just after 9am.
A spokesman for Southeastern said: “Trains running through this section of track were cautioned and ran at reduced speed.
“How the cows got on the line is not known as there were no gaps or damage found to the boundary fence.
“At 9.47am it was reported that the cows were returned safely to their field, and the caution to trains was lifted.”
Trains later carried on running but at reduced speed on the stretch while the trespassers were moved on.
