Booze thieves strike at a string of stores
Supermarkets in Ashford and Tenterden have both been hit by alcohol thieves.
Shoplifters have targeted at least half a dozen supermarkets in a series of booze raids across the county.
Police have now released an image of two people they would like to speak to after drink worth more than £2,000 was stolen from stores in Ashford, Tenterden, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and West Malling.
In both Ashford and Tenterden, it was Waitrose stores, in Sir Bernard Paget Avenue and Sayers Lane respectively, that were hit.
All the thefts are thought to have taken place between Wednesday, July 23 and Saturday, August 9.
Police are now appealing for information from anyone who may recognise the man and woman shown in the photograph.
PC Nuri Sadik said: “These thefts have involved expensive alcoholic drinks including whiskies, vodkas and brandies.
“The crimes stretch across a large area of the county so we are hopeful somebody will come forward and help us.”
