Having a field day at cricket club
An open day at a village cricket club allowed people of all ages to have a go at the sport.
At Little Chart Cricket Club budding batters and fielders, from preschool age to late seventies, played a series of games using different balls for the various ages and abilities, under the supervision of senior club members.
Sponsored by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Waitrose the event, designed to introduce the game to as many people as possible, also featured a barbecue lunch and traditional cricket tea.
Organiser Craig Taylor said: “It was wonderful to see so many people try the game for the first time.
“We also had several people who have played in the past and are now inspired to try again.”
