Nightclub set to reopen after £1.25m makeover

- By Vicky Castle

A new Ashford nightclub is soon to open in The Old Warehouse in Station Road after a £1.25m makeover.

Cameo, which has replaced the popular late-night hotspot Liquid and Envy in East Hill, is to move into the old Hustle nightclub building once a major revamp is finished.

Clubbers will be eager to try out the new venue after the town has been left without a late-night club for two months.

Owners The Luminar Group closed the doors of Liquid for the final time last month ahead of Cameo’s grand opening on Friday, December 5.

Ashford’s former Flour Mill in East Hill, which was home to Liquid and has been a nightclub for the past 30 years, was put on the market early last month by its owners, Ashford School.

Commercial property agent The ES Group is selling the venue for £750,000 and says the building has had a lot of interest.

The Luminar Group bought the old Hustle club in January and has since been completely transforming the Grade 2 listed building. It was converted into a nightclub, restaurant and bar in 1998 and has been through several transformations since.

The new Cameo will include 16 private pre-bookable booths with table service, three dance floors, a roof terrace and guest DJ appearances.

The UK’s largest nightclub operator already has successful Cameo clubs in Eastbourne and Bournemouth. The club is currently recruiting and looking for 60 new employees.

Positions include bar staff, VIP hosts, security, DJs, entertainers, photographers, marketing and promotional teams.

Anyone interested in applying for a position should visit the club’s Facebook page.
